We posted an entry in the middle of June about a sewer backup problem we encountered in Forest Glen. The restoration people have been working dilligently to get the place back to it's original state having had to relpacer all the tile, the cabinets and nything and everything that became contaminated from the sewage. Here are several photos of progress as of 7/29/2008.

July Monthly Newsletter
Dear PEACE OF MIND Customers,
Another month has passed and the thermometer has been hovering in the low to mid 90's with the heat index in the 100's many days, in short it’s been HOT & HUMID with little cloud cover!!! The rains have NOT returned and the lakes are as low as they’ve ever been. Those of you who live near Santa Barbara and Davis Boulevard will be thrilled to hear that the road work has been completed and we now have six lanes of smooth road to drive upon. Work is progressing on the Santa Barbara to Rattlesnake Hammock Road extension and a fall completion is expected. Naples continues to grow!!
They say that things run in cycles and we at PEACE OF MIND can confirm this adage because we’ve had no less than 7 water disasters. Two were the result of "ice maker" water supply lines that broke and not only flooded the unit where the problem originated but also the 1st floor units below, left and right of it. The other two were the result of a sewer back-up and a poorly constructed A/C plumbing system that resulted in a unit getting flooded from a drainage line that became clogged from lack of air conditioning preventative maintenance. As of this newsletter we're still in the midst of restoration work being done in several units.
Fortunately most of the other problems we encountered this past month were reasonably small ones and not major disasters. Smoke alarm batteries continue to go dead over time as do thermostat batteries. The continuous beeping of the smoke alarm can be tolerated however when the thermostat batteries die so does the air conditioner. Once batteries have been replaced the A/C can resume doing it’s job...so don’t forget to replace batteries once a year and/or leave replacement batteries readily available so we can change them should the need arise.
Bugs, bugs and more bugs the majority of which were "dead ones" which is what we continue to find in some units. Here in Florida they call them "palmetto bugs but where we come from they’re plain and simple....COCKROACHES...and needless to say dead ones are the only good ones. If we see an inordinate number of dead bugs we will notify the owner so they can decide what course of action they want to take. In most cases they’ll contact the pest control people who in turn contact us and we will do our utmost to coordinate access for treatment.
Well, that does it for this month. Let’s hope the upcoming month will not hold too many surprises for us. Meanwhile stay cool and relax because you have PEACE OF MIND!
